Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has congratulated Ann Mwangi Mvuria for being the first ever elected lady to chair students association of the University of Nairobi.
Noting on Facebook on Monday, Sonko pointed that Ann is the first beauty and intelligent leader to be voted as female chairperson of students body.
Ann, a law student, was elected on Sunday to be the chairperson of the University of Nairobi Students Association (formerly SONU). She became the first female to attain such a position.
"Nairobi beautification goes on. My compliments to my sister and friend Ann Mwangi Mvuria for being elected as the chairperson of the University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA)," Sonko noted
"Ann becomes the first female student with beauty and brains in the history of students leadership in Kenya to be elected in this position. Congrats to Team Twaweza," added the governor.
Sonko invited the UoN elected leaders to congratulate them for winning on Sunday.
UoN student body organisation has been chaired by male students with some now being prominent politicians.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Embakasi East Constituency MP Babu Owino are among politician who chaired students in UoN.
