A section of preachers based in Eldoret town has pleaded with the members of the public to come out and register for Huduma Namba.
They have told the public not to listen to the negative rumours being spread about the huduma number.
“We are aware that some people are saying that the number ‘666’ is demonic and that the people who will get that registration number will be given as sacrifices, but that is not true," Pastor John Kioko of Blessed Church Ministries In Eldoret’s Roadblock estate said.
He added that "even the bible does not condone that, there is nothing like a demonic number, so please let us ignore such negative sentiments, Huduma Namba is good for both of us."
Pastor Enock Were of Huruma Friends church echoed the sentiments noting "Huduma Namba is a good thing and I have already registered. It is just a government initiative to take records so as to serve Kenyans better. I humbly request all Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and register: all those rumours are false”.
The clergy insisted that Huduma Namba has no demonic agenda and told off those spreading such rumours.
“How can a mature Kenyan tell people to avoid taking Huduma Namba?” wondered Pastor Edward Rono of Fire Alive Ministries.
The preachers thanked the government for the initiative and vowed to continue mobilizing the public to register in big numbers.
“We must be straightforward and prayerful because it concerns all of us. As preachers we are pretty sure that Huduma Namba is a good thing for everybody and there is no dark force behind it”, added Pastor John Shiundu from Salvation Army church.
