Even as Justice James Wakiaga took over Jacque Maribe's murder case on Wednesday and his subsequent banning of media from airing it, a rare guest visited Milimani Law Courts.

Justice Wakiaga, who is sent to listen and determine bail application by Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu, said presence of media could influence his ruling.

"As an old school Judge, I could even be influenced by media publication on the case. It's prudent that the parties involved stop feeding media information in relation to the case," he said.

A section of social media users have termed Justice Wakiaga as the 'state' agent under instructions to help Ms. Maribe, who has been adversely mentioned in the murder case of Monica Kimani.

And a staunch Jubilee stalwart Moses Kuria was pictured at Milimani Law Courts further raising suspicions over possible interference by the state.

"I was standing with Jacque Maribe until I saw Moses Kuria. State House is now on it and Monica's family might not get justice," argued popular blogger Olivia Moraira alias Kabz Nyar Kisii.

During 2017 elections, Maribe featured prominently in reporting on Jubilee campaigns besides being a regular State House guest.

In her sworn affidavits, Maribe distanced herself from the murder, insisting that her fiance arrived at their Royal Park Estate when she was already asleep. Police have insisted that Maribe was with Irungu at the time of Monica's death.

The two will know their fate on October 24th and the prosecution has already opposed their bail application.
