Aden was born on October 21, 1972, in Garissa.
He is among Somali politicians with a strong academic background.
Aden schooled at Balambala Primary School between 1982 and 1989.
He later joined Lenana High school and sat for his secondary examination in 1993.
After his secondary education, Aden enrolled for a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Administration at the United States International University (USIU) and graduated in 1996.
In 2000, he graduated with a Master’s Degree in International Business from the University of London.
Aden later secured a job with the Standard Chartered Bank as Business Development Manager.
He also worked at the British American Tobacco (BAT) as a General Manager.
In 2013 he quit his job to join politics and won the Balambala seat on ODM ticket.
Aden is a staunch Muslim and is married.
