Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has made a surprising U-turn and denied claims that he is among leaders who are Deputy President William Ruto's point-men.
Murkomen in a tweet on Friday said Ruto has his own political path to chat and is therefore not dependent on any politician. He also added he does not depend on Ruto in whichever way.
The Senate Majority Leader was reacting to a story published by a local daily alleging that among six politicians Ruto almost every day relies on for planning, Murkomen was one of them.
"Any intelligent Kenyan can see through this political propaganda disguised as inside story," the outspoken Murkomen twitted.
"William Ruto is master of his own game. My plate is full and I am not interested in serving in his courtyard. This story is inviting us to a silly conversation but 'I am not boarding."
According to the story, apart from Murkomen, Ruto's other close confidants include Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Parliament Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi, Soi MP Cleb Kositany, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and youthful Langata MP Nixon Korir.
He is on record saying Ruto will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
