After weeks of bashing President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly collaborating with ODM leader Raila Odinga to victimize Deputy President William Ruto, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen is now praising the Head of State.
The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator has over the last few weeks been part of the DP Ruto's faction of the Jubilee Party questioning the Uhuru-Raila truce. At some point, Murkomen termed handshake as a fraud aimed at kicking DP Ruto out of the ruling party.
But speaking on Thursday, the lawmaker lauded Uhuru with regards to his state of the nation address in parliament, saying that he managed to touch on the real issues affecting Kenyans.
"The speech was fantastic. What I liked the most was the presentation and inspiration. He managed to assure Kenyans that the nation is on the right track and addressed most of the issues affecting Kenyans," Murkomen said.
The Senator was speaking in an interview on NTV, Thursday night, also attended by Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior.
He defended Uhuru for only reiterating what he has been saying, especially the corruption issue where he was expected to realize his threats to punish suspects.
"I see people bashing the President for repeating what he has been saying all along. The national address is all about reiterating what the government has been doing in the last one year," the vocal senator noted.
Among issues that Uhuru spoke about include the runaway corruption, his union with Raila and national security.
