Speaking in Borabu, Nyamira on Friday, he warned the criminals that they will be met with the full force of the state, reminding them that there is enough machinery to counter them.

He announced plans to deploy two special police teams for the jobs, adding that intelligence have shown that they are a group of notorious gang who have been arrested initially.

He observed that all attempts to use peaceful methods have been futile, leaving force as the only remaining option.

"We have intelligence report that those involved in cattle rustling are the same people we arrested, charged in court and later released by the courts.

We have begged enough. You can't have enough force and powers than a Government that is in power.  We will deal with you accordingly," he was quoted by the Standard.

The CS who was accompanied by Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai also announced plans to open two more patrol bases in the area.

He said that 300 police officers will be deployed along the border as part of the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU).
