Just a day after Nakuru Jubilee chairman David Manyara issued a statement asking leaders to stop politisizing the street children saga in Nakuru, Bahati Kimani Ngunjiri has hit back.
The vocal legislator while addressing media in Nakuru on Saturday said the issue of deportation of the street to a forest in Baringo is a serious matter and must be addressed.
He dismissed Manyara warning him to stop appearing in media interviews as party leader.
“The issue of those children is real and we have spoken the truth about it. The statements that were made on Friday were only individuals’ stand and not Jubilee party since we did not elect leadership,” said Ngunjiri.
Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama said Manyara should respect elected leaders as they are voicing the plight of their electorates.
“They are allowed to give their views but not on behalf of the party. As elected leaders, we have no harm in visiting the children at Jomec and donating foodstuff. Manyara should respect elected leaders,” said Arama.
The two MPs said the issue must be investigated and those involved face the law.
