Controversial preacher Prophet David Owuor is apparently an asset to those gunning for elective seats in the country.
Owuor, who has stirred controversy after he made a pompous entry into Nakuru on December 28, is one of the country’s religious leaders with a massive following.
The self-proclaimed prophet held a rally at Nakuru’s Menengai Grounds and left politicians salivating due to the thousands of people who attended the miracle and healing crusade.
In one photo that has been making rounds in several political Facebook groups, Owuor is photographed addressing a mammoth crowd.
Politicians in the Kericho Renaissance political group said they wished for such following.
“This man is a great asset in politics. Look at this following here,” Hillary Kimutai Yego posted.
“He can make you win an election in a flash of a second . . . without spending a penny,” he added.
Here is the photo making politicians salivate:
The man of God is so powerful that he enjoys a cult-like following or what Central Organisation of Trade Union (Cotu) boss once described as a suicidal following.
His followers would take his word without a question.
In politics, where numbers is all one needs to play the game, Prophet Owuor will remain an asset to Kenya’s politicians.
Whether his is a purely religious mission or he trades with politicians for support would be a fascinating venture to unfold.
