Kanze has been acting in the same position for the last three months after her boss Manoah Esipisu was redeployed for an ambassadorial job.

Esipisu was appointed Kenya's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in July this year.

The chief of staff in the Office of The President Nzioka Waita asked the staff in Kanze's office to accord her necessary support.

"We wish Dena success in her new role and ask all stakeholders including PSCU staff, the media and colleagues in Government to accord her the support she needs to excel," Waita said in a statement.

Before joining the President, Kanze was a Swahili news anchor at Citizen TV where she co-anchored with Lulu Hassan.

She now becomes the first woman to hold the position of State House spokesperson.
