Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale's Two-Thirds Gender Bill has been the subject of intense debate.
The bill, which was meant to increase women representation, has divided public opinion right in the middle.
There are those who hold the view that the bill will go a long way in healing the inequalities that have ravaged Kenya while others contend that it would not solve anything.
The question is: Will the bill solve the inequality conundrum?
My answer to that question is yes.
Garissa County, more than any other county, stands to benefit.
This is because, the bill will ensure that more women from the county ascend to positions of leadership.
For a county that has not put women at the forefront of affairs, the bill would reverse that reality and ensure that women have a stake in the direction that the county that takes.
When women are involved, many people benefit.
The Two-Thirds Gender Bill is long overdue.
