Deputy President William Ruto on Friday attended the burial ceremony of his aide Anthony Kariuki.
During the funeral service which was held at PCEA, Ngundu Church in Kamulu, Machakos County, DP Ruto said that he will support the family of the deceased.
Through his Twitter account, Ruto eulogized Kariuki as a self-driven man, adding that he was inimitable.
''Anto changed the dynamic wherever he was, with his tremendous sense of placid disposition, and intellect. In any assignment he was involved, you knew everything would be better. He was simply inimitable!'' said DP Ruto.
Ruto stated that he had lost one of the best workers at his officer.
The DP was accompanied by Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Buuri MP Mugambi Rindikiri.
Kariuki died after he was hit by a tour van on Outer Ring Road in Nairobi. The accident occurred as he was crossing the road on his way home. He died while being taken to hospital.
Kariuki was the deputy director of communications at the Office of the Deputy President.
Before joining the DP's office, he worked at Nation Media Group as a digital editor, worked at Plan International East and Southern Africa as the social and web editor.
Kariuki is survived by a wife and two children.
