Deputy President William Ruto's second Nyanza trip in as many days saw Jubilee politicians giving him a wide berth.

On Thursday at Bomachoge, Ruto held a meeting with hundreds of youths mostly from Nyamira and Kisii Counties.

In contrast with last Friday's Nyamira function where he attended funeral of Henry Obwocha, local Jubilee MPs were nowhere to be seen.

Instead, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka both from opposition welcomed the DP.

The trip comes amid internal wrangles in which older politicians are accusing Ruto of investing in youthful leaders at their expense.

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro and his North Mugirango counterpart Joash Nyamoko have been playing crucial roles in DP's functions.

Conspicuously missing were Jimmy Angwenyi, Richard Tong'i, Shadrack Mose and Jerusha Momanyi who rarely misses Ruto's rallies in the larger Gusii region.

Also Osoro and Nyamoko, who have been organising most of the functions were not present.

During the function, Ruto insisted that he does not fear his competitors adding that he's ready to face them on the ground.
