The political temperatures now are completely different from what was at this particular point last year.

The handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has ensured the peace and better political temperature now.

Many lessons have been learned since and Kenya has made tremendous progress since that time.

The Rarieda Member of Parliament and Senior counsel Otiende Amollo,  who was pivotal in ensuring NASA successfully petitioned presidential election results,  took to his twitter to recall the happenings of the day.

From his tweet,  he has already bid farewell to his family as he did not expect to be free after the ceremony.

"#RailaSwearingIn. On this Day last year,  I left my house, bid my wife bye, pretty sure chances of return were 50%, being maimed 80%, being arrested 100%. It came to pass that none happened! Here we are,  fully embracing the handshake! How things change ", read the senior counsel tweet on Wednesday.

One can argue it was a brave decision by the legislator to attend the function having already expecting only the worse.
