Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has affirmed that he is the right candidate to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta upon completion of his second and final term in office.
Speaking during an interview on Inooro FM on Wednesday, Mutua said he has ideas to transform this nation if given the chance to ascend to power when that time comes.
He also said that Kenya will not be the same again if he is given an opportunity to become the next President.
“In 2022, I'm offering myself to be the 5th President of Kenya. To use new ideas and creativity to solve our problems and grow our economy because we have all it takes to take Kenya from the third world into the first world. Inawezekana Na Itawezekana," he said.
The county boss also said that corruption must be dealt with by all means.
He urged national and county governments to work together to ensure that the vice is a thing of the past.
He is expected to lock horns with Deputy President William Ruto. Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is also considered one of the greatest threat to Mutua’s presidential ambition should he contest in 2022.
