Farmers in Mombasa County can breathe a sigh of relief after the county government launched the Input Subsidy Programme.
The County Government of Mombasa through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives launched the programme on Friday at Mwakirunge.
The programme will see registered farmers from the region receive seeds and fertilisers free of charge.
The subsidised seeds and fertilisers will be issued across the county as farmers prepare their farms ahead of the long rains which are set to begin soon.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho took to his official Facebook page to inform farmers about how they can access the subsidised farm inputs.
