At Muhoroni on Saturday, the Head of State also revealed that Mr Odhiambo, his school mate since their time at St Mary's Nairobi, helped him straighten his eldest son, Jomo Kenyatta.

He said: "He was a true Kenyan, he had no tribal or religious boundaries all he wanted is to make friends. He recongised you for who you are and not what you are."

The Head of State said Bruce was a man who was never afraid to give everything he had for those who couldn’t have.He said in his life, the late has helped so many upcoming musicians who wouldn't have made it in life.

"He was a mentor to many young people including my very own son Jomo whom he helped me straighten out and that is why I have come here today to celebrate a man who means a lot to my family."

At the funeral, Uhuru insisted that he will help the children of Mr Odhiambo study and establish themselves as long as 'he's still alive', adding that it's the only way to remember his fallen friend.

The president was joined by ODM leader Raila Odinga in the funeral with the latter asking government to beef up security along Nandi-Nandi-Kisumu border to reduce cases of bandit attacks.
