In a long-winded statement seen by Hivisasa, he deplored the manifestation of tribalism on social media groups where youths from northeastern Kenya are members.

"Woe unto those Garissa youth who embrace unending circles of abortive reforms, tribalism and political hatred within the Muslims community in Garissa. I have been following the past few months what is happening in various social media sites, mostly in Facebook and more so a number of funny regrouping WhatsApp forums in Garissa," the statement read.

Aden also weighed in on the cases of violence in Garissa County, saying that there was a strong need for the residents to ensure that peace prevails for development to happen.

He challenged the youth of the county to take the lead in peace efforts.

"Whenever peace is absent in the county or anywhere in the world, it’s the youth, the elderly and women who bear the greatest brunt. We don’t want to see any sort of violence in our county. We don’t want our youth to be used and later on dumped in a cloudy debris of no substance. It’s us, who can make change, and it’s us who can bring peace and tranquility among our warring brothers and sisters in the county," he said.

His statement comes as Garissa County grapples with a bewildering array of challenges from corruption to poor development.
