Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri defiance character against President Uhuru Kenyatta went a notch higher on Tuesday – a day after the head of state dismissed him over remarks he made on Sunday.
A furious Ngunjiri on Sunday went bare-knuckle at the President over the wrangles facing Jubilee party and accused him of ‘cornering’ Kikuyus after they voted for him twice last year in the presidential race.
Ngunjiri told Uhuru to ‘call for presidential elections if he is tired’.
While speaking in Mombasa on Sunday, Uhuru dismissed Ngunjiri’s press address and asked MPs from the Mt. Kenya region to ‘leave me alone’.
“Kwa hivyo hao washenzi wawachane na mimi,” Uhuru said.
The remark was picked by Jubilee supporters who went hammer and tongs on the head of state and accused him of insulting them after they ‘sacrificed so much to vote twice (for him)”.
The vocal Nakuru legislator went ahead to mock Uhuru by printing t-shirts inscribed with the washenzi remark.
He distributed them to his supporters and toured Nakuru streets.
