Former Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe has revived his attacks on Deputy President William Ruto.
The former Gatanga lawmaker has been leading an anti-Ruto campaign, as he seeks to bar the DP from the presidency in the approaching 2022 general elections.
Speaking in Gatanga on Sunday, he bashed the DP and his team for condemning the ongoing purge on corruption, saying that they are not any special and must be investigated.
He noted that everyone linked to corruption, as Ruto has been, must be held accountable, and the DP is not an exception despite holding the second most powerful seat.
“We have witnessed former presidents in Korea and other countries being arrested and charged in court over corruption and Deputy President William Ruto is not indispensable,” he was quoted by the Nation.
Murathe spoke in the company of other Jubilee and opposition leaders opposed to the DP at the Gatanga Catholic Church, before holding a rally at the Gatura Shopping Center.
He added that he has since raised the issue with President Uhuru Kenyatta, and has been assured that action will be taken against everyone.
Murathe, a deemed close confidant of the Head of State claimed that Uhuru assured him that the corrupt will have their date with the courts very soon.
“I asked the President on when he shall take action and he promised that it is just a matter of time before he cracks the whip,” he added.
