Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi has bashed a section of Western Kenya leaders who have faulted the recent Mashujaa day celebrations in Kakamega County.
Led by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, the politicians have condemned their exclusion during the event, lamenting of not being accorded speech time.
But in an interview on Milele FM early Thursday, Osotsi accused the group of insincerity, claiming that they were well aware of the planning.
Osotsi added that all Western Kenya leaders had been summoned and briefed on the same in State House ahead of the event.
"Wale wanaolalamika eti hawakupewa nafasi ya kuongea wanapotosha watu (these allegations are false and wrong)," he said.
"Sisi sote viongozi wa Magharibi tuliitwa Ikulu kabla ya hafla yenyewe na tukaambiwa hatutapata wote muda wa kuzungumza
(all the leaders complaining were part of the delegation that attended a recent meeting at statehouse where we were alerted of time constraints)," he added.
The statehouse meeting was however not attended by Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, according to the parliamentarian.
The leaders were instead represented by area Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, in the event that also saw former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka left out.
Only President Uhuru Kenyatta and visiting Namibian Head of State Hage Geingob made their remarks.
Others who had the chance to speak were Deputy President William Ruto and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
