Former Makadara Member of Parliament Benson Mutura had lauded the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report as a good.
This comes as a change of heart from Mutura, who until the release of the report, termed it a waste of time and a plot by some top political leaders to create themselves government posts.
On Saturday, he said that having gone through the document, he finds it good and able to solve the problems the country is currently facing.
"I have read and accepted it (Mimi nimeisoma na nimeikubali)," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi on Saturday morning.
He attributed his change of heart to his sudden realization that the task force was actually the making of President Uhuru Kenyatta and not with the input of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Mutura said that on realizing that the task force was formed by Uhuru, who he believes in, he is convinced that the document is for the good of the people and not the political class.
He also noted that changes of mind remains a part of human life, stating that he should not be questioned for making a u-turn, but rather embraced and welcomed into the BBI side.
"While opposing the BBI I never knew this was a presidential taskforce, I only understood that later (Mimi nilipokuwa napinga BBI sikujua ni presidential taskforce, baadaye ndio nilikuja kuelewa)," he added.
Mutura served on Uhuru's now-defunct The National Alliance (TNA) party between 2013 and 2017, before losing to ODM's George Alaldwa, the incumbent lawmaker.
