A 36-year-old man has been arraigned in court for threatening to kill his neighbor in Kitui County.
Jackson Mwendwa is said to have burnt his neighbor's food store and threatened to kill him.
The store belonging to Benson Kyalo was torched on September 9, 2018.
Several people appeared in court as witnesses on Friday.
Mwendwa allegedly committed the crime at Kanyonyoo ward in Kitui Sub-county.
"He threatened to kill me when I asked him why he had burnt my store," Kyalo told the court.
Mwendwa was also charged with another count of beating three other residents leaving them with serious injuries.
The court heard that the accused together with others, not before the court injured the complainants on September 4, 2018, in Kanyonyoo ward.
"This man is not a good person, he keeps harassing residents. We are tired of him," said resident Michael Muli.
Mwendwa who appeared before Principal Magistrate Johnstone Munguti denied the charges leveled against him.
He was ordered to pay a Sh800,000 bond and surety of the same amount.
The case will be heard on December 3rd, 2018.
