While testifying before Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa on Monday, Kibor said that one Lawrence Kosgei, who was also present in court, conned him the wheat on August 17 last year at Kabenes, Uasin Gishu County.

The controversial farmer cum politician, who has hit headlines in the past because of various reasons, claimed that he had agreed to give the man 872 bags of wheat at Sh3,100 each but he failed to honour the agreement they had reached after he picked the same from his farm.

“He came to my house and we went directly to the store, where he picked samples of the wheat and promised to come back the next day,” said Kibor.

He also told the court that the man loaded the wheat on two of his trucks before leaving.

The accused has, however, claimed that he paid Kibor the said amount through a National Bank Account registered in the name of his eldest son.

On his part, Kibor insisted that the son works in Uganda as a Timber trader and he was away when they were negotiating the deal with the trader.

Hearing for the case will continue on April 16.
