Speaking in Nakuru Saturday evening, Koigi urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to replace a number of his ministers whom he (Koigi) accused of incompetence.

The former Subukia Member of Parliament took issue with Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia whom he accused of poor performance.

He questioned the CS's inability to among others, tame the increasing cases of road carnage and his undisturbed stay in his office during such instances.

"Iweje waziri mzima anakaa afisini wajati anapohitajika kuwa nje na kushughulika, tangu achaguliwe sijamwona hata Mara moja akijitokeza nyakati za ajali. (Its sad and alarming that a Transport Cabinet Secretary stays in his office even during accidents and other incidences that demand his presence on the ground) said Koigi.

The ex-lawmaker was speaking in an interview on Radio Sauti ya Mwananchi's Cheche Show.

This comes amid reports that the President who is currently in Mombasa could be working on a possible reshuffle ahead of official resumption of work for the new year.

But according to the former Assistant Cabinet Minister, Uhuru must carefully nominate his new aides if that is indeed the actual situation.

"Iwapo ni kweli kwamba anataka kubadilisha mawaziri basi atupe watu watakaofanya kazi. Isiwe marudio ya tunachokiona sasa.

(If he is indeed working on a reshuffle then let it be a working team and not a repeat of what we are seeing now where people are not working)," he added.
