Former Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Timothy Bosire has broken his silence over the Central Bank of Kenya's (CBK) decision to phase out Sh1,000 notes.
The vocal politician argued that the move will help nab several people who have been stealing taxpayers money when the go for exchange in banks.
He challenged EACC to be on high alert to ensure anyone who takes huge amount of money for exchange at various banks, explains the source of the money.
"This is the right time the government should know those who have been stealing money. I am sure that when they will be returning the money, authorities will get hold of them," he said.
Bosire who doubles as Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party treasurer, warned Deputy President William Ruto's allies against politicizing the phasing out of the old Sh1,000 notes.
He further wondered why the government can issue a long period of time for Kenyans to take the old shillings notes for exchange.
"The deadline for exchanging the old notes could have been within one month and not the several months. This could have helped to nab thieves," said Bosire.
Bosire was speaking in Nyamira town on Monday.
