Governor James Ongwae's victory celebration turned sour after a group of people attacked the locals who had attended the celebrations.
This happened in Emanyi village at around 8.00 pm on Thursday after a group of people, armed with pangas and knives, attacked them.
The goons asked them to kneel down before they started beating them.
"I was so shocked when they ordered us to kneel down while raising their pangas. They then started beating us using the pangas randomly and ordered us not to shout they will kill us. " Samuel Nyarera, who was one of the victims said.
The casualties were taken to Kisii Referal Hospital where they are nursing their injuries.
The area Chief Tom Monari said he will liaise with the OCS of Rioma police station to patrol the area.
