Drama ensued at the Kasarani Stadium as frustrated AFC Leopards fans held hostage both the Argentine coach Rodolfo Zappata and the players on the field, demanding that they should walk on foot back home and feel the pain of losing.
The upset fans roamed outside the stadium, as the players and the technical bench remain stranded in the stadium.
The police had to beef up the security for the players, who had to wait hours for the crowd to disperse.
The Ingwe diehards could not come to terms of their team losing to Sofapaka FC.
"Hawa wachezaji hawajitumi, kazi yao ni raha na pesa bila results. pia viongozi wametuangusha sana - 'The players aren't giving their best, theirs is only luxury and we use a lot of money to pay their due but they don't produce the desired results, its leaders have also failed us," agitated fans argued.
The restless fans were roused by the players' dismal performance against Sofapaka in the Shield Cup semi-final despite having a number of chances they did not utilize.
