Deputy President William Ruto on Friday arrived at Nyaigesa Primary School for a series of events across the South Nyanza County.
Dr Ruto arrived at 10:40am and was ushered in by West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi of Ford Kenya. Hundreds of his supporters were at the site.
Also present were Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose, County MP Jerusha Momanyi and North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko.
The DP laid a foundation stone for proposed construction of West Mugirango Technical Training Institute at Nyaigesa, which is funded by NG-CDF and the Government of Kenya.
After the event, Dr Ruto is expected to commission newly built West Mugirango constituency offices before presiding over a fundraiser at Nyamira Catholic.
Thereafter, Dr Ruto's entourage will head to Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i's Borabu backyard where he will preside over fundraiser of 15 SDA Churches at Nyamiranga Secondary School.
In Nyamiranga, MP Ben Momanyi of Wiper will be the host. It is the first time Ruto is visiting Nyamira in 2019 despite making numerous trips to neighbouring Kisii.
Curiously, Governor John Nyagarama was not at Nyaigesa so as county Senator Okong'o Mogeni. The two were elected on Orange Democratic Movement party.
