Finally, it is more hope for Kenyan football lovers as the country has been ranked three places up in the latest release by FIFA.
In the Friday, June 14, 2019 ranking issued by the world top football governing body, the country now at position 105 alongside Libya with a total of 1207 points.
The improvement has been attributed to the outstanding performance by the Harambee Stars in the build up to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers among its other recent friendly matches played within the past few months.
Incidentally, Senegal which is also set to participate in 2019 AFCON Pool C with Kenya, tops the African continent and is ranked position 22nd in the world.
Kenya's immediate neighbour, Uganda was ranked at the 80th position in the world with 1299 points while Tanzania lies 131 on 1105.
Portugal climbed up by two places and is now the world's fifth after earning herself the inaugural Nations League title in addition to their European Championship crown.
The Dutch, who did not qualify for both the Euro 2016 and 2018 World Cup, also gained two points, rising to 14th position.
Belgium, however, remains at the first position in the world of football.
It is now expected that the improved ranking will motivate the Harambee stars to deliver brilliantly in the incoming Afcon matches.
