Police officers on Friday arrested a stolen vehicle suspected dealer. The dealer, who was later identified as Gideon Kioko Mutuko was nabbed by the Kenya Flying Squad sleuths after he reportedly sold Nissan Patrol which has the same Reg/No(KBW 109Z) with a TATA Lorry. The detectives said that the lorry in question belongs Kelco Company in Nairobi.
"GIDEON Kioko MUTUKO; a suspected Stolen M/Vehicle Dealer was yesterday arrested at Savannah Hotel-NRB by @DCI_Kenya Flying Squad Detectives, having sold a Nissan Patrol bearing the same Reg/No(KBW 109Z) with a TATA Lorry owned by KELCO Company NRB. In custody pending arraignment," DCI said in a tweet.
The detectives decided to swing into action after they received a formal complaint from the victim of the same. The DCI has since summoned the management of the Kelco Company after the incident.
"Having received a report from the victim who was again being called upon by the 43-yr-old suspect to trade in the Nissan Patrol earlier sold to him for yet another Toyota Land Cruiser, the Detectives laid in wait at the venue before pouncing on him. Kelco Company Management was summoned, who availed the TATA Lorry for further Police Action,"
The incident comes a day after DCi warned the general public against criminals posing agents.
