National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has called on the National Super Alliance (NASA) legislators to engage their Jubilee counterparts on the election amendment Bills in the floor of the August House.
According to the Garissa Township Mp, it is the role of all elected Mps to represent, legislate and oversight on all issues affecting the people of Kenya.
Duale believes the election amendment Bills are meant to fix any lacuna in the current election laws that necessitated the annulment of the August presidential election results.
"The reason we have a presidential system of government is to allow for a majority and minority in Parliament. That is why Parliament remains the best place to fix politics. NASA Mps should thus engage Jubilee on the election amendment Bills in the floor of the National Assembly because they are elected to that house for representative, legislative and oversight roles," reiterated Duale.
The lawmaker also faulted the opposition for calling for a bipartisan approach to the forthcoming October election issues whereas they have refused to join the House Business Committee.
"The opposition is calling for a bipartisan approach whereas they have refused to join the House Business Committee. In fact, they have internal friction that has impeded them to present the minority whip and deputy minority leader," added Duale.
Duale made the remarks during a political discussion on Citizen TV on Monday.
