Deputy President has received backing from Kiambu county leaders after they publicly declared their full support towards his political ambitions in the 2022 general elections.
The leaders who were speaking in Kiambu where the Deputy President was launching the Wangige-Nyathuna-Rironi-Kirangari road on Thursday. They said in one voice that they will not let DP Ruto down as he has shown support to the region when they needed it most.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu assured the DP not to worry about the numerous attacks from some leaders from across the country as Kenyans believe in him and they will back him for the top job in the next general elections. He added that some of the challenges that the DP is facing are normal when you are the favorite candidate to clinch the top job in the country and that it won’t be easy for him before the elections.
Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Icghung’wa called upon the Kiambu voters to maintain their support as the Deputy President is the only one who knows what the President wants to achieve as the pair is development oriented and they won’t let the voters down.
Ruto instead, reiterated that Kenyans should be wary of leaders whose only interest is politics and not development. He said that the Jubilee government will not be swayed by politics and attacks from opponents but will focus on delivering what they promised Kenyans.
“Those only interested in politicking across the country should learn from the President. Despite being busy seeking goodies for the citizens he sent me to launch these projects because we have a promise that we have to deliver to the people of Kenya,” Ruto reiterated.
