However, speaking on KASS FM on Thursday morning, Duale noted that another defeat awaits the leader, in a race that will put him against Deputy President William Ruto.

Judging by Raila's four losses previously, Duale termed Raila a perennial loser, claiming that he would record his worst loss in the hands of the Deputy Head of State.

"Raila alisimama na Moi, Kibaki na Uhuru na wote wakamshinda. Ruto atamshinda vibaya zaidi, ajipange (he has always lost. Let him prepare for his worst defeat in the hands of Ruto come 2022)," he said.

Raila has, however, remained mum on his 2022 plans, despite a section of his allies hinting that he might once again take a shot at the top seat in the much-anticipated race.

The veteran politician has featured in the last three consecutive elections and another, recording losses in all, all of which he has blamed on rigging, alleging to be a victim of election theft.

He made his first attempt in 1997 before losing to then President Daniel Moi, the only election he has admitted to having lost in.
