He was taken to Kabarak Health centre where he underwent treatment before he was flown to Nairobi for further treatment.

Addressing media at Kabarak after visiting the MCA, Baringo leaders led by Tiaty MP William Kamket, said those behind the act should be brought to book.

The MP claimed one of the vehicles used to hijack the MCA was a government land cruiser.

“We are aware that one of the vehicles belong to police as per the registration number and the GK land cruiser that was used to transport the MCA. We are therefore calling on the government to come out clear on this,” said Kamket.

The vocal MP decried that there could be killer squads operating within the government which should be investigated.

He urged the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet to ensure the matter is addressed.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Speaker of the County Assembly of Baringo David Kerich.

“It is sad that this happened to elected leaders. The government should always ensure the security of the citizens and more so elected leaders,” he said.

Area OCPD Joseph Kioko said the matter is under investigations.

Lotela was reportedly abducted by unknown people on Sunday around 3 pm at Nginyang in Tiaty sub-county.
