AFC Leopards' former player Dennis Shikanda, who is part of the coaching team, believes the return of former Kenyan international Dennis Ochieng to the club boosts his side’s chances of ascending the KPL table.

Ochieng, popularly known as Cheche, rejoined the club on a short-term deal and says he believes he is part of the change and will be looking to gain his spot in Ingwe’s defence.

“We are also looking forward to bring in at least six more players as five key midfielders have been ruled out until next year due to injuries, while one striker and a defender will know their fate after MRI scans next week,” Said Shikanda

Immensely popular with most of the players, Ochieng’s comeback will almost certainly lift the morale of the players, who have been underperforming in the league.

The former champions sit on 14th position with 16 points in the league table, one point above relegation threatened Zoo Kericho.

However, with the return of Cheche to a team that already has Dennis Sikhayi, Christopher Oruchum, and Moses Mburu, the coaching team is feeling confident about their chances.

Given their presence in the team, this will also boost their chances of avoiding relegation this year. Ingwe next host Sofapaka in the league as they look to extend their winning streak to three games.
