With President Uhuru Kenyatta visiting Jaramogi's home in December last year, his younger brother Muhoho Kenyatta graced the 25th anniversary of the late Jaramogi at ACK in Nyamira, Bondo on Sunday.

Mr Kenyatta, a powerful adviser of the president who is rarely seen in public, arrived at the church before proceeding to Raila Odinga's Bondo home for lunch.

Incidentally, his trip comes barely 24 hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta shared podium with Raila Odinga in Muhoroni, during the burial of former Youth Enterprise CEO Bruce Odhiambo.

The event was to be hosted in Kisumu County for the first time but had to be postponed due to absence of Governor Anyang Nyong'o, who remains hospitalized at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

"Given that the governor was sick and the month also seemed squeezed for us, and because of the tight schedule, we decided to postpone the event to next month,” said Dr Oburu Oginga on Saturday.

The Kisumu governor was airlifted to Nairobi for what doctors at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu termed as ‘conclusive tests’.He fell ill during the installation ceremony of Catholic Archbishop Philip Anyolo and was rushed to the hospital where he remained admitted.

His communication secretary said he had been diagnosed with low blood pressure and put on bed rest.“This is the first event of its kind that we are hosting outside Bondo. We want people to turn up for this ceremony,” said Mr Oginga.

Muhoho is one of chief architects of the suprise handshake that brought together Uhuru and Raila after six years of high octane politics in the country.
