A section of Gusii residents have made a special appeal to the flamboyant business mogul Don Bosco Gichana following his historic grand return to his home turf after he was released from a Tanzanian prison where he was facing money laundering charges.
The locals have now called upon Mr. Gichana to organize himself to take up leadership roles in 2022.
“I like the way Mr. Gichana carries himself around. Let him plan to vie for a top political seat in 2022 since his influence in Gusii politics has been proven worthy,” said Edwin Ombati in Kisii town on Saturday.
Caleb Mabuka urged Gichana not to associate himself with selfish Gusii leaders who snubbed his grand return event.
“Gusii leaders have panicked following his return. They snubbed him on Friday but, that should not worry him because residents turned up in large numbers in his solidarity,” he noted.
Jackline Omayio reiterated that Gusii leaders snubbed the event because they could have been humiliated by Gichana’s supporters.
“Mr. Gichana is worthy a leader. He should now be ready to battle it out for a political seat with the selfish leaders who sunbed his grand return,” she said.
On Friday while addressing his supporters at Gusii stadium, Gichana insisted that he will continue empowering women and youth the same way he used to do before he was arrested by Tanzanian authorities.
