Speaking at Mosasa area in Bomariba Ward, Kisii County on Wednesday, Isaac Motari lauded Duale for acting swiftly to put the record straight.

"Now that Duale has dismissed the impeachment claims, we can rest. We all know Matiang'i is a no-nonsense person and therefore, he should be allowed to serve Kenyans without being distracted by politicians," he said.

Motari expressed confidence that politicians who don't like Matiang'i's strictness will end the impeachment debate after Duale dismissed the claims.

"Leaders need to get used to Matiang'i because he is tough when it comes to serious matters. Tarnishing Matiang'i's name won't be possible and politicians need to mind their own businesses and allow Matiang'i to deliver on his mandate and ensure Kenyans in all corners of the country are safe and protected," said Motari.

He said Matiang'i's promotion should not worry anyone because he deserved it.

In January, Matiang'i was appointed to chair the National Development Implementation and Communication Committee, that will be in charge of supervising all government projects.

On Wednesday, Duale in a statement to the media said the fake gold scam should not be politicised, adding that no impeachment against Matiang'i will sail through.
