The leaders have defended Maraga saying he is doing a commendable job since he was appointed to serve as the Supreme court President and Chief Justice.

"Maraga is leading the Judiciary transparently and those calling him a master of corruption have a hidden agenda to achieve. We have seen a number of a high profile being prosecuted over corruption since Maraga was appointed for the Chief Justice post," said a Kisii County MCA Daniel Apepo.

Apepo, the Tabaka ward MCA called on leaders from the Gusii community to unite and defend their own son, brother.

Samuel Omwando, Kisii County ODM leader warned DPP Noordin Haji against dragging Maraga into his failure to prosecute cartels who have stolen public money.

"Office of the DPP should work for Kenyans and stop unnecessary dragging Maraga. Let the DPP arrest and arraign criminals in court for prosecution. We are happy with the Judiciary's work in the fight against impunity in this country," he noted.

This comes after Maraga wondered why he should be called a master of corruption yet the members of the Judiciary are working hard to fight impunity.
