Gedi denied claims of dishing out money to some MPs to reject the report.

The Wajir Women Rep told the Justin Muturi chaired the committee that she only influenced MPs to reject the report and never gave out money as is being speculated.

"I only lobbied and persuaded MPs to reject the sugar report and I never gave out money," she said.

Gedi told the committee that claims of her dishing out money to MPs are meant to taint her character.

"I am pained by this false information which is designed to taint my character as a leader," she said.

Gedi is at the center of investigations into the bribery claims.

Some MPs who have been questioned over the bribery allegations claim that Gedi dished out Sh10,000 to some MPs in order to reject the sugar report.

MPs rejected the sugar report on grounds that it was shoddy with many gaps.

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is among people who have been adversely mentioned in the bribery allegations.

Duale is also expected to appear before the committee for grilling over the alleged bribery.
