Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said he cannot rule out forming an alliance with any leader including Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the contest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Former Vice President said he is ready to hold talks with like-minded individuals.

DP Ruto is among the political leaders who have expressed their interests in the nation’s top seat.

Kalonzo made the remarks in Busia County on Sunday during a fundraiser for Kolait Catholic sub-parish church in Teso South.

The Ukambani political kingpin said being the second in command is not easy.

He said there are several challenges leaders who serve in this position face.

“I was the 10th Vice President, but we have had only four presidents. Being a Vice President or Deputy President is really a slippery business,” Kalonzo told the faithful.

Kalonzo and DP Ruto are expected to lock horns when that time comes.

The duo has expressed confidence ahead of the race.

Both Ruto and Kalonzo are banking on the support of President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to ascend to power in 2022.
