The Kenya premier league returns on Saturday. Here, we highlight four games to look out for.
1. Kisumu All-Stars vs Ulinzi Stars
Ulinzi start their league campaign away to new boys Kisumu All-Stars and go into this game as favourites to win.
For the newcomers, on the other hand, this looks like an eventful season for them as they will seek to maintain their league status and avoid relegation.
2. Wazito FC vs Nzoia Sugar
Machakos stadium is expected to be full for Wazito’s first home game back in the top-flight league. The last time Wazito welcomed the visitors at home in the league they lost 3-0 and will be looking to avenge their painful defeat.
For the Millers, their story is very different as the will be looking to build on where they left last season.
3. Kakamega Homeboys vs AFC Leopards
Homeboys could not have picked a better day to play their local rivals, judging on their preseason run Ingwe are winless in their last four games, so why not face them when they are struggling.
Ingwe has had a very rough preseason and their performance has been far from impressive. But hopefully, they might just surprise us with a win on derby day.
4. Gor Mahia vs Tusker
Kogalo start their hunt for a fourth successive premier league title with the Brewers their first meeting. New coach Steven Pollack comes from the back off winning 5-1 and will be looking to see how his new attacking trio will gel in the league.
For the Brewers, it wasn’t a busy preseason for them and will be dependent on their young players notably David Majak to pull the strings for them.
