Photos of Governor John Nyagarama wearing open shoes and suit resurfaced yet again on social media, eliciting sharp online debate.
A fortnight ago, Nyagarama visited former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka in Karen, dressed not much different from Wednesday's outing.
Gubernatorial Press team posted Mr Nyagarama's photos after he visited the family of Nyakundi Nyagwara, a former long time serving civic leader.
"His Excellency Nyagarama visited the family of Nyakundi Nyagwara to condole with them. Nyakundi died after a long illness," read the statement.
But the photos of the govenor divided social media users, with some accusing him of wardrobe malfunction.
"How can you for heaven's sake put on a suit and open shoes? The person dressing the governor should just style up," wrote Carol Kwamboka.
Evans Gecheo added: "He's yet again in slippers. This shows how we shall struggle as a county forever. He can't just get it right."
But George Momanyi, a personal assistant in the county secretary's office, rubbished Nyagarama's critics, insisting that they were dwelling on personal vendetta.
"The governor's mode of dressing is his choice. Let as not criticise everything. Let us focus on development," he argued.
For years now, Nyagarama has faced criticism over what residents refer to sheer incompetence and laziness.
On Wednesday, it also emerged that all the money received from National Government for devolution goes to recurrent expenditure, a revelation that shocked residents.
