Police officers in Nyamira North sub-county are holding a local primary school teacher who allegedly slept with his pupil.
Confirming the incident, Nyamira police commander Catherine Mugo said Milton Sagero was apprehended after the female pupil, 13 reported to her parents what had happened to her.
"Sagero found the victim returning home from a posho mill and lured her with biscuits, took her to his house and held for the whole night," said Mugo.
The police commander said the victim later reported the matter to her mother despite the suspect's warning to her not to reveal the matter to anyone.
"The teacher had warned the pupil not to disclose the matter to anyone but, she exposed the issue after her mother threatened to cane her. The mother reported the matter to police, prompting to the arrest," she noted.
According to Mugo, medical tests on the victim tested positive.
She assured that the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are completed.
"Charge sheets are being prepared for the suspect to be taken to court," she noted.
