Former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto now says that he has never been anyone's point man, and is not representing anyone's views with regards to the heating referendum bid.

The leader, an ex-ally of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has since thrown his weight behind similar constitutional changes being pushed by the Raila block.

He has since joined the push to revert the nation to the parliamentary system of governance, which is one of those changes Raila and team want achieved through a referendum.

Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, only weeks after their meeting at Raila's Capitol Hill offices in Nairobi, he however noted that he is npt being anyone's point man.

"I have never been anyone's point man," he said during the News Night show on Tuesday night.

The Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader added that the only reason why he is being seen taking sides is as a result of his belief that the nation needs a set of constitutional changes.

The vocal leader also pledged his readiness to work with anyone in support of amendments that will see more funds being channeled to the 47 counties.

"The only thing is that if my issues and passion converge with hours there is absolutely no reason why we should not work together. Those who will support the devolve units to have more allocation of resources I will be with them," he said.

In the 2017 elections, he was part of Raila's National Super Alliance (NASA), where he was seen as the man tasked with the role of delivering the Kelenjin vote into Raila's presidential basket.
