Popular benga musician J.M Waitiki will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
The prolific Gikuyu artist who died on Wednesday will be buried at his Mombasa residence, according to her daughter Wambui Mwaura.
Waitiki moved to the coastal city to establish a business in the late 1990s as he continued pursuing his music career.
He hails from Gikambura village, Kikuyu Constituency in Kiambu County.
Waitiki came to the limelight after he produced the 'Shaggy Boy' hit in the early 2000s when he was the leader of Gikambura Super Star Band.
He is also famous for other songs such as 'Erithi Ya Waitiki', 'Murata' and 'Kupapa Kupapa'.
The musician was a long time friend of Inooro FM popular presenters Man Saimo and Katta.
Following Waitiki demise hundreds of his fans, who include his fellow musicians, radio and TV presenters, have sent their messages of condolences to his family.
Celebrated Mugithi artist Kioi Junior took to social media to express his shock over his friend's death.
"I never thought it would hit me this much. Time to sleep is now and it's nothing to cry about. Rest In Peace," posted Kioi.
"JM Waitiki is dead. He is famous for his song Kupapa Kupapa," said Inooro FM breakfast show host Jeff Kuria.
His demise came few months after Gikuyu music flaternity mourned deaths of Joseph Kamaru, Samuel Muraya Tutu and Joel Riiya.
