Fiery lawyer Miguna Miguna has accused Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga of betraying former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT Manager Chris Msando.
The Ex-IEBC boss was brutally murdered a few days to the August 8, 2017, general election and his body dumped at a thicket in Kiambu County.
Miguna now has revisited the gruesome murder that shocked the country, and accused the former Prime Minister of 'killing posthumously' the man who had vowed to stop the manipulation of 2017 polls.
In a tweet on Thursday, the exiled lawyer claimed President Uhuru Kenyatta was behind Msando's murder and castigated Raila for embracing the Head of State, through the famous March 9 handshake, instead of pursuing justice for the former electoral agency chief.
"Uhuru Kenyatta murdered Chris Msando physically and Raila Odinga killed Msando spiritually posthumously by betraying him to Uhuru instead of seeking justice for Msando the way he declared after Msando's mutilated body had been found," Miguna posted.
The remarks come at a time Msando's family has been piling pressure on the government to unravel the murder which for two years has remained just a mystery.
“I have been hearing over the radio about suspects in other murder cases arrested and arraigned. But why is it that those who killed my son have not been apprehended? What does the government know that we don’t know?” posed Mary Aloo, Msando's mother.
Sunday, July 28, 2019, marked the second anniversary since Msando was found murdered but the family decided to delay the celebrations due to some unavoidable circumstances.
“This time around we plan to celebrate his second anniversary around mid-August, probably on August 17, 2019,” said Msando’s elder brother, Peter Msando.
