A middle aged man from Makairo area in Nyamira South Sub County is currently being held by the police after allegedly strangling his mother to death.
According to some of the locals, the man has been accusing his mother of bewitching him for the last few months and has not been talking with her.
Confirming the incident, area assistant Chief Justus Nyakang’o said the accused man David Osumo (25), is suspected to be a drug addict.
“The body of the deceased was found in the house strangled and the man is said to have told some of his friends that he has killed his mother while they were on a drinking spree. We were informed by his friends," said Nyakang’o
The chief further said the mother lives alone as some of his children are out of their home, thus the delay in recovering the body.
“The man is currently being held at Nyamira police station as the body of their mother is currently preserved at Nyamira morgue," said Nyakang’o.
