Embattled Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe insists that she doesn't know Monica Kimani, the lady who was found dead in her apartments in Kilimani, reports the Standard.
Ms. Maribe surrendered to Kilimani DCI offices on Thursday before she was referred to Kiambu Road headquarters for grilling.
In her lengthy discussion with detectives, Maribe, who was in the company of her father, said that she 'even read news about Monica's death on TV'.
For the better part of this week, Maribe, according to the police, had refused to pick calls as she was being sought to record another statement after her fiance, Joseph Irungu, was directly linked to the murder.
However, in her rejoinder, the celebrated anchor said 'she was in shock after the finance was linked to the murder and took refuge in her father's house'.
Her vehicle was impounded by the police for dusting after it emerged the Mr. Irungu had used it in Monica's apartment.
Further, she said, her fiance, whom she met at a city club before moving in together, had been using the vehicle most of the time.
Maribe insisted that she knew nothing about the murder and that she took her fiance to the hospital after finding out that he had gunshot wound.
Mr. Irungu was detained as police intensified investigations to the mysterious death that saw Monica's neighbours identifying Irungu positively as be killer.
The deceased was buried on Friday in a sorrowful ceremony at Gilgil even as the family called for justice to their slain daughter.
